Before each lighting (including your first burn session), it is important that you TRIM THE CANDLE WICK TO ABOUT 1/4" IN HEIGHT for a clean, safe and even burning experience. This will prevent a large flame from developing and will prevent smoking. Trimming the wick as recommended will also help extend the life of your candle.
